Wireless biosensor system for recording neurochemical concentrations in freely moving rats.
TWO-CHANNEL AND THREE-CHANNEL WIRELESS BIOSENSOR SYSTEMS are available for recording neurochemical concentrations in freely moving rats. Both turn-key systems use Bluetooth® technology to wirelessly transmit data to Pinnacle’s Sirenia® Acquisition software via a USB dongle. They provide a platform for high capacity biosensor studies and are well suited for group-housed and behavioral experiments.
Biosensors function by the enzyme-mediated processing of the analyte of interest. This results in the production of hydrogen peroxide that is then detected by oxidation at a Pt-Ir electrode. Electroactive interferents present in the brain are excluded via a passive selective membrane and through active removal when necessary.
For first time buyers, we recommend purchasing an accessory kit (8100-K7) to complement the hardware system.
The kit includes the following (quantities are 1 unless otherwise noted):
8172: LE Bluetooth Wireless Potentiostat
9052: Bluetooth Dongle
9054: 3′ USB Extension Cable
Made by Pinnacle Technology.
Tethered versions also available here.
