The 4-channel tethered mouse system is a configurable recording system for in vivo research. Users can add optogenetics, an accelerometer or biosensors, or simply change the EEG/EMG channel arrangement.

Users may select low-pass filters and gain settings. EEG, EMG and biosensor data are amplified and filtered at the head of the mouse by the preamplifier. Two biosensor inputs can be acquired on a single channel. Signals are then passed through the low-torque mouse commutator and swivel (8408) to the data conditioning and acquisition system (8401-HR) for final stage conditioning and filtering.

Acquisition and review software is provided at no cost. Preamplifiers are sold in separate kits based on configuration.

This 4-ch tethered mouse hardware option is among the most flexible of Pinnacle’s setups because users can easily modify the configuration by changing only the preamplifier. The configurations options are as follows:

8401-HR: Data Conditioning and Acquisition System
8408: Mouse Commutator and Swivel
8413-M: 12″ 15-Pin Cable
8426: 18″ Mounting Plate
9002: USB Cable

The preamplifier kit is used with the 4-Channel Mouse Tethered System (8400-K1). The kit includes preamplifier and all necessary one-time-purchase accessories, as well as enough surgical supplies/disposables to complete initial surgeries.

Pinnacle offers biopotential recording systems for sleep, seizure and general research paradigms in freely moving mice and rats. Their mouse EEG/EMG systems use head-mounted amplification to produce exceptionally clean waveforms, even during animal movement. Researchers can simultaneously record three channels of EEG and/or EMG data. The data conditioning and acquisition system (DCAS) and preamplifier are preconfigured and ordered as a matching pair. Standard configurations include 2 EEG/1 EMG and 3 EEG.
